We are over-looking the Harvey Dam. The Dam is a significant draw card for visitors to the region. It is a popular spot for bush-walking and bird-watching. Other activities are sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. A beautifully designed amphitheatre, children’s playground and BBQ facilities are part of the downstream recreation area.

Harvey Railway Station Museum

For many years the Railway Station was the central point of activity for the district. By 1987, with the introduction of the modern “Australind” train, the Railway Station was no longer needed and closed. The Station now houses the Harvey Museum and is the only Railway Station remaining in the Shire of Harvey. The Museum is open to the public on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of every month, 2pm – 4pm.

Stirlings Cottage

Adjacent to the Tourist Bureau. Replica mid 1800’s cottage, once home to May Gibbs, creator of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Gumnut crafts, souvenirs, tea rooms, May Gibbs feature room, tranquil river setting, heritage gardens.
